Candy Heart Experiments & Dr. Seuss

We do many fun things in Kindergarten, and one favorite is always making things ‘erupt’! Throughout the year, they have done this type of experiment–with apples, pumpkins, etc. Check out pictures below to see this in  action! A fun twist is adding food coloring to the vinegar–this makes the ‘eruptions’ even more fun! We also crushed candy hearts and investigated different liquids to see which would dissolve the candy hearts first. Students made predictions and compared results as they stirred and made observations. Celebrating Dr. Seuss included watching Cat in The Hat, reading books with 3rd grade buddies, drawing and painting Cat in The Hat, and listening and doing an activity with the book Wacky Wednesday.
