Shapes & Color Science!

This Past Week In Kindergarten 

Things are going in full swing in Kindergarten this past week! We have begun doing our Math Daily 3 rotations and Daily 5. Students are working on writing numbers, creating numbers, playing number games with a classmate, and more. Teaching shapes this week included students making shapes, looking for shapes, using manipulatives, and completing a “Shape Book” that was sent home on Friday. For science, we did an experiment to see if a black Mr. Sketch marker was really black. They also got to do an experiment with celery and food coloring. Next, studen got to see a fun reaction with whole milk, food coloring, a q-tip, and dish detergent. (I let the milk sit out awhile so it works better and used Dawn brand detergent). We finished the week mixing colors in vanilla pudding for a fun snack, and investigating our celery.
